Don’t Make Time For Regrets In Your Life

A friend recently shared this article on Facebook; Nurse Discusses 5 Regrets People Tell Her Before She Dies. In the article the nurse shares the five most common themes of regrets those about to die have. I’m sharing this with you all as a reference to remember to live your own life in the moment and not have any regrets.

  • Theme 1: I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
  • Theme 2: I wish I didn’t work so hard.
  • Theme 3: I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
  • Theme 4: I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
  • Theme 5: I wish that I had let myself be happier.

Each of these themes are things I know I tell myself that I won’t do, but having them laid out in front of me forces me to pay attention to the direction that my life is going. We all or should have dreams that help move us forward in life. Personally it would be terrible to have lived for a 100 years and realize that I really haven’t lived at all.

The article gives examples and suggestions that will help you not come to the end of your life with regrets. When you have a moment take a look at the full article and tell me what you think.

Let’s all live a life with no regrets.

Motivation Moment: Angelina Jolie Humanitarian Awards Speech

Angelina Jolie is known for her films, large family and humanitarian work. It was for the latter that gave her the opportunity to give a speech that would hopefully inspire others to live their best lives like she is doing, but in their own way.

She uses the speech to compare her life to a woman living in a refugee camp. This woman hasn’t had the same opportunities, but has the same dream and more talent. She’s using this comparison to introduce us to living our lives in service to others and be grateful for what you have.

Nothing in this world would mean anything, if you don’t live a life in service to others.

I’m a big advocate for living your best life, giving back and constantly being in service to make the world a better place. I even try to use this blog (Live to Give) to encourage others to make a difference and do just what Jolie is encouraging.

This speech will hopefully motivate you to find ways to not only give back, but use your role in this life to be in service to others. In whatever capacity this will manifest itself, it’s important that we are selfless and make a difference.

Be the greatest humanitarian that you know.

Me & My Music: Naya Rivera – Sorry

Artist: Naya Rivera

Song: Sorry

I’m not a fan of the show Glee, but I’m familiar with one of its stars; Naya Rivera. Without realizing it I’ve followed her career: Family Matters, Smart Guy, Even Stevens, Bernie Mac, etc. Recently, I remembered that she recorded a song that I wanted to listen too. Well, I finally did and was really impressed.

Unlike fans of the show Glee, I can’t compare this to her performance on the show and I really would like to see what else she will have to offer. Most of the comments were positive (minus the few comments relating to her fiance). Not to mention, the lyric video above is kind of racy.

SORRY – For not uploading a post in such a long time, but this is a great way to return back to doing what I love.

Get Bit By The Travel Bug [Quotes]

“No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old familiar pillow.” – Lin Yutang

“I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.” – Susan Sontag

“Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.” – Dalai Lama

Motivation Moment: Encourage Yourself

We can’t always turn to others for support, so when that happens it’s up to us to be our own best cheerleader.

You know what you are going through and you have the power to change it. For help, here are some positive affirmations I like to use. This set of affirmations may help too.

When you are at your best or your worse remember to encourage yourself to keep pressing forward.
