Talks with TED: Keep Your Goals to Yourself

In this short Ted Talks, speaker Derek Sivers uses psychologist studies to prove that keeping your goals a secret will make them more likely become a reality. He also uses this data to state that telling others your goal and getting their congratulations will make you believe that it already happened and you won’t pursue it as actively.

I personally don’t announce my goals to the world and on social media, but I do believe in speaking life into your goals. It’s about telling the universe more than a specific person about your goals.

If we are not to tell our goals to others, I suggest writing them down in a notebook and saying it out loud to yourself to give that goal life.
